Scanning from the Platen Glass

If the Network ScanGear driver has not been run since Color Network ScanGear or Network ScanGear was installed, you must first select the network scanner to be used by the ScanGear Tool.
Before scanning, the scanner must be set as online using its operation panel. Refer to the " Before Scanning" for details.

1.
Start Color Network ScanGear or Network ScanGear from the application program.
When Color Network ScanGear or Network ScanGear starts, the Color Network ScanGear Main Window or Network ScanGear Main Window appears.
The procedure for starting the TWAIN driver depends on the application program, so refer to the application's users manual for details.
2.
On the [Main] sheet, select [Platen] for the [Original Placement].

Set the original on the platen glass.
Set the original face down on the platen as shown.

After scanning from the feeder, if you intend to scan from the platen, be sure to lift the feeder completely when setting the original on the platen glass.

4.
Set scanning conditions such as color mode and resolution in the Color Network ScanGear Main Window or Network ScanGear Main Window.
5.
Click the [Preview] button to preview the image.
The pre-scanned image appears in the Preview Area.
The following tasks can be performed using the preview image:
You can specify the scanning area.
You can zoom in and out using the toolbar or adjust the image using options on the [Options] sheet.
6.
Click the [Scan] button.
Scanning starts.
The scanned image appears in the window of the application when scanning finishes.
IMPORTANT

After clicking the [Scan] button, do not attempt any operation in the Color Network ScanGear Main Window or Network ScanGear Main Window until the scan progress dialog box appears.
If the Network ScanGear driver does not close automatically when scanning finishes, click the Close button.
